Amaro QUE Arcevia: infusion of medical and aromatic herbs, handmade biological product of Marche
THE HISTORY OF QUE
Amaro QUE is an infusion of medicinal and aromatic herbs, born from the idea of three cousins who live their local traditions with the daily aim of making them known on a national and international level. Their project is created in Arcevia, one of the most characteristic and historic village not only in Marche but also in all of Central Italy.
The name”QUE” appeared in a dream : in the local dialect “QUE” is comomnly used in sentences before a verb in order to emphasize the concept being expressed, giving specific weight to any question.
After a relentless research and with the help of a carefully selected set of raw materials (rosemary, olive leaves and honey) a balanced and distinctive recipe was created, inspired by the territory and supported by distillation experts.
AMARO QUE PRODUCT OF MARCHE REGION
Amaro QUE is an handmade and organic product whose recipe is created with blends of rosemary, olive leaves and honey, all sourced from the Province of Ancona.
Rosemary is the first dominant ingredient. In our area there is a small organic agricultural company that cultivates one of the most extensive rosemary plantation in the region. After harvesting the branches in July, the raw material is left to macerate in a hydroalcoholic solution for about 10 days in order to create the infusion. Another part of the the fresh rosemary is distilled to obtain the essential oils which characterize Amaro QUE.
The hilly territory in central Marche is distinguished by olive trees and traditional mills which continue to press olives in order to produce organic extra virgin oil. During the olive harvest in November, some of the olive leaves are preserved and later infused, creating the second essence of Amaro QUE.
Finally, we must honor one of the oldest crafts still passed down through generations: beekeeping.
Several families manage beehives located in the lands of the nine Castles of Arcevia, transforming the work of bees into artisanal organic golden honey. The sweet component of this handmade product naturally balances the rosemary and olive leaves balsamic qualities, replacing the sucrose typically added to alcoholic products.
